This bedding range is designed using a German fibre technology called Smartcel, it aims to create a stable environment, even if it’s hotter or colder outside of the bed. This temperature controlling technology allows relatively large amounts of heat to be absorbed and released, as it’s needed. This means that the Sonar Smartcel range is perfect throughout all seasons, and it helps provide thermal compatibility between sleeping partners. The Smartcel Clima fabrics used to make these bedding products, are made from soft, strong, cellulostic fibres that incorporate a Phase Change Material (PCM). The organic PCM used in the Sonar range is a wax like material that melts at around the normal body temperature of 38°C. It is these sealed microcapsules of the PCM that provide its special temperature controlling/stabilising properties.
